We have now formed a Harrold Heritage Group, which will both promote interest in the history of Harrold and support the Harrold Centre redevelopment grant application to the Heritage Lottery Fund.  The group is set up as a sub-committee of the existing Carlton and Chellington History Society, many of whose members come from Harrold.

The History of Harrold – Help to Bring It to Life

Please come and join us

The first event of the Harrold Heritage Group will be an open meeting on Wednesday 23rd April.   During the meeting you will have the opportunity to:

–          Listen to a short talk from John Tusting on the Harrold leather industry.

–          Review the progress of, and input ideas to, the development of the Harrold History Trail.

–          Discuss, shape, and contribute to the future activities of the Harrold Heritage Group.

–          Examine the plans for the Centre’s redevelopment and how the Heritage Group will contribute.

Thank you to those of you who have contacted me as a result of the article in the previous issue of the Bridge.

We look forward to seeing you on the 23rd and would appreciate any further offers of help and welcome any ideas that will contribute to the success of this activity.

If you have not done so already, to express your interest contact Phil Briggs at philbmail@aol.com or call 720710, or simply attend on 23rd April.
